2017-18 Nevada Select Camp

What is the Select Camp?

October 23, 2016

Dear USA Hockey Participant,

On behalf of NAHA and the Pacific District, I would like to welcome you the our informational web page regarding the 2017 USA Hockey Pacific District Youth Player Development Camp as well as the 20176 Western Regional Select 14 High Performance Camp.

Under USA Hockey governance, the objective of the Player Development Program is to select and train the most competitive men and women ice hockey teams to represent the United States at the Olympic, National Junior, and Select levels of international competition.

The attainment of that goal begins each summer as USA Hockey hosts a series of player development camps for boys, and girls ages 14, 15, 16, and 17.  Nearly 1,300 young athletes representing each of USA Hockey’s 12 districts participate in the week long events, which attracts scouts, coaches, and evaluators from every level of hockey.  Participants receive on and off ice training under the direction of leading NHL, NCAA, and USA Hockey coaches and players.  Participants are chosen through an evaluation process conducted at their state affiliate and district levels.

Further, the Pacific District has joined forces with the Rocky Mountain and Northern Plains Districts to provide our Select 14 (2003’s) participants a venue to compete against the best talent in the western United States.  The Western Regional Select 14 High Performance Camp is a 5-day national festival format that is held on the campus of Colorado College in June.

Through this model, the Pacific District is pleased to announce their Select 15, 16, and 17 Boys Player Development Camp in San Jose, California on May 4-7, 2017.  Additionally, the Western Regional Select 14 High Performance Camp will be held in Colorado Springs, Colorado on June 17-22, 2017.

Best wishes on you hockey endeavors this season and we hope to see your best efforts on the Ice.

Very truly yours

Greg Yochum
